Who’s Jesus?
Hello, this is Susie. Some of you may know me better as Two’s! Casey has made this wonderful web page and has done a pretty good job of keeping you up to date on the funny things our kids do and say.
Since I have become a Brownie Troop Leader (go ahead and laugh), I have had to start learning how to use a computer again. I thought this would be a good time to tell an Aaron story that is really cute, but might leave some wondering what kind of parents we really are.
For those who do not know, Our neighbor Mrs. Tracy, recently lost her dad. Well Tracy’s son Adam has had a hard time dealing with the loss of his “PaPo”. Adam and Aaron were playing togther the other day and Adam was explaining to Aaron that his PaPo is in heaven with Jesus and now he doesn’t have a PaPo. Aaron replied “you don’t have a PaPo anymore?” to which Adam said “no, he’s in heaven with Jesus”. Aaron then said ” I have a Glanddaddy, (which is his granddaddy) Glanddaddy will be your buddy too”. Now that’s the cute, sweet part of this story. Wasn’t that so sweet of him?
Now comes the part that will make you wonder. After offering to share his glanddaddy with Adam who wants so bad to be able to play with his PaPo Aaron said “you’re PaPo’s in heaven?” Adam said “yeah he’s in heaven with Jesus” and Aaron then replied “Jesus? Who’s Jesus?”
Oh boy! The other night Aidan was playing with some toy insects his aunt had bought him and asked “Why it was called a Praying Mantis?”
“Because it’s hand’s look like it’s praying”
I heard the praying mantis’s voice from the other room shout, “Oh God! Deliver me from slavery!”
I guess the MLK day lessons in kindergarten hit home. 🙂
Isn’t Aaron precious? He is so unselfish!! That’s saying a lot that he’s willing to share his granddaddy. What a good friend he is to Adam!!
Hey Two’s!!!! Well let me just say that Aaron is a great lil boy for sharing his Glanddaddy that alone shows that you and Casey are great parents, raising such a unselfish son. As for asking who Jesus is, he is young and i am sure that ya’ll will let him know who Jesus is and i am sure that Aunt Sandra will too. Talk to ya later, can’t wait to see everyone at the reunion!!!
Sue: I’ve never met you..but seen your pictures on the site. I was Casey’s 6th grade homeroom teacher; located him on classmates.com. a couple years ago.
My oldest niece came out with a good one when she was about 5. Her Sunday School class had lesson on the Prodigal Son. Susan asked my mother and aunt where the Prodigal Son’s mother was! My aunt called the preacher..even he didn’t know!
Little ones can come up with some interesting comments. They’re sharper than we sometimes realize!
