• Notes

  Corporal in the US Marine Corps. Rocky was on furlough from the service when he was killed in a car crash in Marion Co. on Hwy 27 between Whitwell and Powells Crossroads at the location known as Tight Eyes Curve. That evening he had visited friends and relatives and was on his way to the home of his parents in Gruetli-Laager, Grundy Co., TN. He had planned to meet with his parents and attend Sunday night service with them.
