Another review

The AirClickUSB has started shipping and so the reviews are beginning to trickle in. You may recall this is the first product for which the majority of the software for the Mac was created by me (yippee). Though I’m listed in the credits for the radioSHARK, very little of it is actually my code. So anyway, I stumbled across this review today and they seem generally pleased with it :)

Pssst… If you have an AirClickUSB and are inclined to teach it to do new tricks, gimme a holler and I’ll tell you all the secret stuff ;)

OK, I’ll bite. I have an AirClick and its great fun! I’d love to learn about how to hack it to do new tricks… like maybe control other applpications (NeoOffice/J etc). Where do I start?

Thanks!

I didn’t get an email address Roger so I’ll just post here. Try showing the package contents of the AirClick application. Look in the Resources folder for the functions.plist file. This oughta get you started. If you want more specific info, just send me an email.

I’d been looking for a simple remote for a while when I bought this. I especially wanted to use it in windows media player (or even better: winamp or foobar2000, but neither was listed). i bought it regardless and so far I haven’t been able to get it to work with barely anything. it opens up iTunes but none of the buttons work after that. it doesnt work at all in wmp, and i dont have powerpoint installed so i dont know about that.

im very dissapointed :[

any tips!!!!??!????? please!?

thanks,
david

I am looking for information on hacking the Airclick Software to control EyeTV. I can get as far as the resources folder, but I am pretty much a novice from there on. Can you help?

(I too cannot seem to email you directly.)

I forwarded the request to the guy doing the work on the PC version. Unfortunately I’m only doing the Mac software.

I believe the most truely useful thing that could of been done here would of been an open api so that additional plugins could have been made to support differnt players. With this move, the remote possibly could of been even more popular than even its current popularity. Take Window’s Winamp. If there would of been an open API, no longer than a month after the release of the remote would their had been a add in plugin for Winamp. If you put the limited supported software issue aside it is a wonderful lil doohickey ;)
