Maybe the threat is real?

I caught a little bit of the President's speech last night, and I gotta tell you, I think I might be convinced now. Clearly this is a country that has weapons of mass destruction. And we've seen that they have arrested, jailed, and even killed their own citizens, including women and children, without due process. The citizens few remaining freedoms are being eroded daily and the government certainly holds the opinion of the rest of world in contempt. After all, here is a leader who is willing to sacrifice the lives of his soldiers rather than surrender to world opinion. He continues to say one thing but will offer no real evidence to back his claims. His policies bread resentment and fear, and he even believes that God sides with he and his nation! The world better wake up and realize that this leader is capable of unleashing chemical, biological, and even nuclear attacks at any time, anywhere in the world... Oh you didn't think I meant Sadaam and Iraq did you?

Are you doubting a man with so much experience in world affairs-a man who has risen to the top in every indevor he has tried-a former governor of the second lastest state in the union.
I read a poll that said Mr Bush would be defeated my a democrat if ran today-don't see why it would be any different than the last time he ran-except maybe this time even the supreme court might vote against him.

Dad

That poll you mention is very interesting. Bush would lose to an "unnamed" democrat. But still has a lead against everyone that has announced that they are running, including Hillary. She has the most support among the democrats even though she says she isn't running. Thank God for small favors anyway.

Just food for thought. A question we have been passing around work today - At what point do we "Step in to stop Sadaam"? Do we wait until he has killed millions of people (as Hitler) or try and stop him before that occurs? I don't know the answer but if what they say is true about him still having the capabilities, I'm thinking before he kills millions (probably Americans). Either way I'm willing to support my personal friends who are in the service and are proud to be!!

I vote for before he kills millions. I just don't believe he's going to kill millions. Further, I believe that creating thousands of orphans in Iraq will create a breading ground for the next generation of Sadaam's, Bin Laden's, Hitler's etc. For a little humor on the idea of a preemptive strike, you must check out this article by Terry Jones of Monty Python fame in The Observer:

Why aren't we in China right now? Why aren't we in North Korea? This war has nothing to do with Saddam as a threat and everything to do with marketing. War sells and keeps peoples minds of crappy economies and insider trading scandals.

And Bush is just plain loco (according to Casey)

The U.S. government does not care about Saddam Hussein (or as Bush Sr. used to call him,Sa-damn). They are willing to let him go if he will just walk away. What they are interested in, is having a colonial presence in the middle-east. Why? We will have to wait until the bigger picture becomes more clear. What is obvious now is, this whole thing is much, much bigger then Saddam Hussein.
